Governor-General David Johnston honored 3 of Canada’s biggest celebrities with appearing arts awards on Wednesday, just as the Great White North methods its 150th birthday.
Crooner Michael Buble and actors Michael J. Fox and Martin Short had been amongst seven recipients of the awards, which understand “primary difference for excellence within the acting arts.”

But they weren’t the simplest ones who were honored by using the Governor-General on Wednesday.
Also receiving performing arts awards have been director and screenwriter Jean Beaudin, theater director Brigitte Haentjens, indigenous theater pioneer Yves Sioui Durand and entrepreneur William H. Loewen, who has been a purchaser of arts companies which include the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO), the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Manitoba Opera.
