PROTESTS AGAINST LIQUOR PROHIBITION
In numerous Rajasthan villages, there were protests in favor of liquor prohibition, with the villagers searching for a total ban on the sale and intake of alcohol. However, this panchayat decision prohibiting ladies from wearing denim or carrying cell telephones has no longer gone down well with the district administration.
“The administration welcomes the awareness being added via consensus through maintaining many panchayats in a single month via villagers of Dholpur and Saipan on troubles of liquor and different troubles, along with getting rid of social evils of child marriage and dowry. If the liberty and rights of any man or woman are violated, it isn’t always proper. The ban imposed on ladies from maintaining mobiles or carrying jeans inside the panchayat is a violation of the regulations and isn’t proper. But to date, no such grievance has been obtained. If such a complaint is obtained, then we will take action after consulting senior officials,” Vinod Kumar Meena, SDM, informed India Today.
